i covered the la fires extensively in january of 2025, working alongside cal-fire and la county fire across la. New York Times Magazine got in touch to commission an interactive aerial video piece on the Altadena fires, exploring a format they had not previously used. Using drone footage captured in a continuous single take, we created essentially created a 3d model that formed the basis for the interactive experience. imagery from the piece was ultimately used as the cover of that month’s issue of the magazine.
